After smashing home runs during his Hall of Fame playing career, Ralph Kiner joined the Mets broadcasting team in 1962, the franchise’s first season. Known for his distinctive style, Kiner charmed Mets fans watching and listening at home for an amazing 52 seasons until his death before the 2014 season.
