This clever orange may look like a fruit, but it’s actually a radio. It encapsulates two Mets traditions: a long history of baseball broadcasting and one of the team’s signature colors. Tropicana produced this promotional radio in the late 1980s with a straw that served as the radio antenna. Tropicana Orange Juice was headquartered in western Florida near the Mets’ spring training field in St. Petersburg, where the team trained until 1987. Hey Mets players, orange you glad spring training is in Florida?
