The Mets went through a lot of baseballs, including this one, in a 24-4 drubbing of the Phillies in Philadelphia. It was the most runs scored in franchise history. New York’s 40 runs over two games, including the 16 scored the night before in Baltimore, were the most by any team since 1953 and the most by an NL team since 1925.
