MEASURING METS SUCCESS
Date: September 27, 1964
The Mets closed out their first season at Shea Stadium with doubleheader losses to the Cincinnati Reds at home. Despite the tough year in 1964, Mets fans packed the stadium consistently. Over 1,700,000 fans came through the turnstiles, giving Shea Stadium the second-best attendance in the National League.
