Mad Max Makes His Mets Debut

In his Mets debut, Max Scherzer tossed six strong innings against his former team in a 7-3 win over the Washington Nationals on the road. Scherzer used this ball as part of a strikeout of Dee Gordon in the 3rd inning. “There’s a lot of good memories here,” Scherzer said of his time in Washington. He went on to say about the Mets, “There’s a lot of talent in here. A lot of moves were made in the offseason to bolster the talent in here. It’s up to us to come together as a team, as a clubhouse, and do the best we can. Everybody’s got to be at their best.” The image is from a start at home later in April.
