Jerry Koosman was a major part of the 1969 Mets campaign, hurling six shutouts and ending the season with a 17-9 record and a 2.28 ERA. His performance in Game 2 of the World Series led the Mets to their first victory in the Fall Classic, a 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on the road.
