Anderson’s Doubleheader Win
Date: 1962 to 1964
Craig Anderson started 14 games and appeared in 36 more for the 1962 Mets, compiling a 3-17 record for the brand-new team. Two of his three wins came on May 12, when Anderson appeared in relief in both games of a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Braves. The Mets won both games with walk-off homers in the 9th inning. Anderson also started the last game ever played at the Polo Grounds on September 18, 1963. Injuries shortened his major-league career after 1964.
