A HOME RUN FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
Date: September 28, 2006
Carlos Beltran’s home run in the 6th inning helped the Mets beat the Atlanta Braves on the road, 7-4. The homer helped Beltran tie three team records. It was his 41st home run, which tied Todd Hundley (1999) for the most to that point in team history. Beltran’s 80th extra base hit matched Howard Johnson’s mark from 1989. It was his 123rd run scored which put him on par with Edgardo Alfonzo’s record from 1999. Beltran went on to set a club record with 127 runs scored in 2006. This is a Beltran road uniform from that era.
