A FAST START

Carlos Beltran wasted no time in making his presence felt. On Opening Day in 2005 he had three hits against Cincinnati including a home run against former Met Paul Wilson. Beltran hit .302 with six home runs, 10 doubles and 25 RBIs before a quadriceps injury slowed him on May 21. Beltran wore this alternate Mets uniform during the 2005 season. “No matter where you play, you have to come in and work hard and prepare yourself,” said Beltran.
